Building

brands

...that feel as good as the work behind them

Your business has grown.

But your brand and website may still be telling an older story.

You’ve refined your work. Strengthened your offers. Built credibility and experience.

But somewhere along the way, your online presence got left behind… because client work tends to win over website admin every single time.

Maybe your website was built years ago and now feels like it belongs to an earlier version of your business. A version you’ve since outgrown, evolved beyond, and would quite like to gently leave behind.

Either way, the disconnect is frustrating, slightly awkward, and sometimes (if we’re being honest) just feels like a bit of a mess.

Because when your business feels more established behind the scenes than it looks online, it creates unnecessary friction.

You want a brand and website that feel aligned, strategic, and representative of where your business is now – and where it’s heading next.

When your brand and website are aligned, everything feels easier

Your business becomes easier to communicate.

Your offers become easier to understand.

Your website becomes a place you feel genuinely proud to send people to (rather than a link you share with the digital equivalent of a nervous cough).

Instead of apologising for an outdated online presence, you have a brand and website that build trust, communicate your value clearly, and support your business growth behind the scenes.

You stop second-guessing every tiny detail, or wondering whether your website is quietly sabotaging you while smiling politely from the sidelines.

You know your online presence reflects the quality of your work, the professionalism of your business, and the direction you’re heading next.

And that kind of alignment creates more than a visual upgrade.

It creates confidence. Clarity. Credibility.

A brand that doesn’t just look prettier, but actually pulls its weight.

And if you know your business is ready for that next level, but aren’t sure how to get there? That’s where I come in.

The strategist behind Sami Rainbow

Hi, I’m Sami – Sami Rainbow Blackford, if we’re being formal.

I help purpose-led business owners create brands and websites that reflect the calibre of the work they’re known for today – not the earlier version of the business they’ve since outgrown.

With over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience (I’ve been in business since I was knee-high to a grasshopper – starting my first venture at the grand old age of nine), I understand how businesses evolve over time, and how brands and websites can quickly become yesterday’s version of the business if left unattended.

My background spans fashion design, creative entrepreneurship, and running a multi-award-winning botanical skincare brand, giving me a blend of strategic thinking, visual sensitivity, and real-world business experience.

I bring both structure and thoughtfulness to my work: strategic clarity, considered design, and a calm, collaborative process that helps clients create an online presence they feel genuinely proud of.

And yes, Rainbow really is my middle name.

Words that guide my work

The strongest client relationships are built on more than good design. They’re built on shared values, thoughtful collaboration, and a clear way of working. These principles shape how I approach every project, from strategy and design decisions to the overall client experience.

Simple

I believe strong brands and websites are built on clarity, not complexity (because confusing people is a surprisingly ineffective business strategy).

That means removing unnecessary noise, sharpening what matters most, and creating an online presence that feels intentional, strategic, and easy for your audience to navigate.

Because when things are clear, decisions become easier – for both you and your clients.

Kind

Kindness isn’t about softness or lowering standards.

It’s about working with honesty, respect, and emotional intelligence.

I don’t believe good work requires unnecessary pressure, inflated egos, or making clients feel like they should already know everything.

Instead, I prefer thoughtful collaboration, clear communication, and strategic guidance that helps you feel supported throughout.

Sustainable

I’m not interested in quick fixes or chasing every shiny new trend the internet declares essential this week.

I help clients build brands and websites designed to support long-term growth – with strategy, messaging, and design decisions that still feel aligned as your business continues to evolve.

Because the best brands aren’t built for just this season, but for what comes next.

Proven in practice, not just in theory

Before supporting clients with their brands, I spent years building and growing businesses of my own

Which has given me first-hand insight into what it actually takes to create a brand that stands out, builds trust, and supports long-term growth.

My work has been recognised with multiple industry awards, including Most Innovative Plant-Based Women’s Skincare Brand and multiple Green Business of the Year titles.

I’ve also been featured in publications such as Country Living and Prima, and have written for titles including Natural Health Magazine.

Building award-winning brands from the ground up taught me that strong branding is never just about aesthetics. Sure, pretty is lovely, but strategy is what stops the whole thing becoming an expensive digital ornament.

That experience now directly informs the work I do with my clients.

beyond the business

Because the way I work is shaped by who I am

I’m happiest somewhere between a stack of books and a patch of earth – which probably explains why I believe brands should feel both thoughtful and well-rooted.

When I’m not mapping out brand strategies or refining website copy, you’ll usually find me singing along to Country Pop in the car (Dolly is a long-standing favourite), curled up with a book and herbal tea, or in my wellies at the allotment growing herbs and vegetables in Welsh soil.

And often, out adventuring with my nibblings – exploring, laughing, getting slightly muddy, and remembering that joy deserves just as much space in life as ambition.

I don’t separate who I am from how I work. The steadiness, thoughtfulness, love of rhythm and seasonality, and preference for depth over noise all find their way into the brands and websites I create.

If this feels aligned…

If you recognise your business here, and you’re ready for a brand that finally reflects the level you’re now operating at…

The next step is refreshingly simple (no tech-induced headaches or mysterious hoops to jump through, promise)

Let’s create an identity that feels clear, considered, and fully aligned with the business you’ve built.
